This was my second Call of Duty project and once again I contributed to two campaign levels. I provided minor scripting support to the designers on “Echoes of a Cold War”, but the brunt of my work was for the level “Redlight, GreenLight”.
I loved the theme of this mission and it was incredibly fun to work on several features across the level.

1. Intel Capture
The camera was a key gameplay feature across the campaign. I implemented the use for it as an intel-gathering tool on this level. The relevant objects had a special markup which would display a special outline in-game and in the viewfinder. Taking a picture of them would advance the special objective:
2. Break-In Sequence
I worked closely with an animator to script this seamless section of a door lockpick that gets interrupted into a slow-mo sequence:
3. Ultimate Takedown
I scripted this entire section of the arcade. From the takedown, to the military training trigger, into the exit back to combat. I also made the arcade machines playable and they were eventually hooked into various games under the Activision umbrella.
4. L33t H@ck1ng
I set up this whole gameplay section of the terminal, Woods’ movement, and the password cracking sequence:
5. Bonus Systems
These are some additional minor systems that added to the detail in the level:
APC (Armored Personnel Carrier)
During the initial break-in, there’s a small section where you have to sneak past an APC patrolling the perimeter. If the player gets caught in the searchlight, then the APC targets and kills them.
Helicopters
I scripted the lights on the helicopters patrolling the exterior of the base. While not super-threatening, you can actually get caught if you walk into the searchlights.
Crickets
I worked with one of the audio designers to create a tool to systemically place different sources for crickets in the exterior section of the level. They would fade in/out depending on the current location of the player.
