| Lead Programming Instructor | Pittsburgh, PA | Summer 2016 |

For my summer internship, I worked in a teaching position as the lead programming instructor for NHSGA. I helped design the technical curriculum for 82 high school students that attended CMU’s Pre-College program on game design and development. During the initial weeks, I delivered intermediate level training on working with Unity game engine to a class of 38 students.
To make the students aware about version control, I conducted a workshop where Git was introduced to them via a command line interface. I was also their primary point of contact for technical knowledge related to all the available platforms viz. HTC Vive, Oculus CV1, Jam-o-drum, Microsoft Kinect 2, The Cave (an in-house themed space with a pneumatic-driven floor and three projected screens), Android/iOS, and PC/OSX deployment.
The students were using their own laptops/machines for the course of the program. Thus, in addition to debugging, I was also responsible for streamlining their workflow and troubleshooting all their tech related issues.
There were a total of 34 games developed by the students over the course of four weeks. Based on their skill level and time constraints, there were some truly impressive products at the end of the program. You can view several gameplay videos on this channel: Vimeo.
My favorite memory was the reception by the students when I introduced myself during the final presentation – one of the most fulfilling moments of my career:
And stumbled upon one of our program directors, Melanie, saying some kind words during the morning session:
